I grew up in West Allis. After attending West Allis Central High School, I got my undergrad and doctorate at the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1995. I then completed my two year internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Southern Florida. Here I got the chance to fine tune my internal and emergency medicine skills. After Hollywood, I then moved up the coast and practiced one year at Imperial Point Animal Hospital in Deerfield Beach Florida. In 1998 I moved back to the Midwest and joined the family here at Spirit of 76th Veterinary Clinic.
In 2003 I purchased the practice from Dr. Stan Thieman who retired. My interests are in all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in canine orthopedics especially cruciate, hip and patella surgeries.
I also played semi pro hockey and is still involved in local ice hockey. My other interests include golf, camping, home improvement, and spending time with my wife, Natalia.
HOME
I have been a veterinary technician since 1996. Before that, I spent three summers working at the Zoo. Now, I am the office manager here at Spirit! I have a tabby cat named Legos, whom I acquired from a vet clinic I used to work at. I got her on Sweetest's Day in 1997. I also have a Shepherd mix dog named Bristol. The first three years of her life, she was a farm dog, but is now loving the lush city life! She has also joined and passed canine good citizen classes, and has become a therapy dog. I spend my free time taking her to nursing homes and hospitals, and we love it! My other personal interests include scrapbooking and stamping, movies, pumpkin carving, camping and walking. Spirit of 76th does "Pictures with Santa" for your pets every Christmas season, and my dad and I are in charge of it. This season, stop on by for a picture of your pet with Santa!

I have been working in veterinary medicine since 1993. Since that time, I have had various job duties, but mostly as a technician. When I'm not at work, I spend the rest of my time with my son, John, and my husband, Jerry. I also visit my mother frequently. We enjoy watching movies at home, and spending time outdoors.
We have an interesting variety of animals, including a frog and two cute zebra finches named Gracie and Dr. Pepper. They are very vocal, especially in the morning!
I have been working for Spirit since 1998. I love every aspect of the job and have a hand in all of the duties. I have also worked State Fair since 1998. My husband Tom and I have been married for eighteen years. We have four children, Steven, Rachel and Sarah. We also have another daughter, Angie, and son-in-law, Jim. They have given us two grandchildren, Becky and Jessica. Soon our daughter Rachel will be giving us another grandchild, and it's a girl!
We have three dogs, Nelly, a Shepherd mix, Archie, a Golden Retriever and Munchkin, a Chihuahua, and four cats, Gracie, Lilo, Fat Man and Baby.
In my spare time, I like to read and spend time with family and friends.

I joined the Spirit team back in 1996, and have been working here on and off since. I started out in the kennel and now I am one of the receptionists here. I had to take a short break recently to welcome my new daughter, Amber Lynn to our family! She is a joy for me, such a good baby, though she does beat up the other kids in daycare...hmmm...I also have a wonderful son named Tyler. I don't have any animals, due to my daughter's allergies, but I do love them and love working here!

Ashley Weber
Hi, I'm Ashley. I graduated from West Allis Central High School in 2006 and have since been attending Cardinal Stritch University. I'm currently working towards obtaining my undergraduate degree at Stritch where I am a double major in biology and chemistry and hope to someday become a veterinarian myself! When I'm not at school or work, my favorite pastime is spending time playing with my adorable pets. I have an extremely loveable long-haired Chihuahua named "Bella", a very energetic new pug puppy named "Lucky", and a fifteen year old cat named "Sammy" (that I've had since first grade!) And another younger and much more mischievous cat named "Leo". They're a lot of work at times, but I love them to death and don't know what I'd do with out them.

Amanda DeGroote
Hello my name is Amanda. Growing up volunteering on a horse ranch, I learned quickly how to care for a variety of animals. When I got done with high school I knew I wanted to become a veterinary technician. From there I moved to Denver, CO to go to Bel-Rea Institute to do just that. During that time I volunteered as a tech at an emergency hospital. After I was done with school I moved back home where I continued to work as a vet tech. As of now I have 10 years experience under my belt.
I live with two cats, "Dreamer" and "Jake", a dog named "Razz", a turtle named "Snappy" and my hamster who nickname is "Hammykins". They keep me on schedule and without them I wouldn't be sane! :)
I'm new to the Spirit of 76th Veterinary Clinic and I'm very excited to be with the team. The doctors are exceptional and the staff here are wonderful. Always ready to overcome the next challenge. I'm looking forward to what's to come.
